Preparing sand for aquarium

Namaste ,
Using natural sand as substrate for aquarium improves an underwater environment, make it more realistic for inhabitants. Sand also adds a naturally beauty to your aquarium. We should prepare sand
it can contain harmful or toxic dust particles and, in some cases, pieces of natural glass or wood that can harm your fish and create a several problems later. Sand should always be cleaned before it's installed in an aquarium, and after installing regular cleaning can easily be done but must be done for maintaining healthy aquarium water ph .

Let’s prepare sand for aquariums.

1. Fill the bucket with sand you bought or you got it by driving near lake or river. The bucket should not be filled more than half to allow enough room to stir which create rinsing effect for the sand later which helps for dust particle removal.

2. Then Push the hose to the bottom of the sand in the bucket then run the water and fill the bucket & let it over flow. The water pressure should be low to prevent the sand from being forced out of the bucket.

3. using hand or wood stick Stir the sand slowly it will release dust particles from the bottom due to weight of sand dust particles are stuck in the bottom. These dust particles will rise to the surface & due to the water running it will flow out of the bucket. Stir the sand in clock wise using wood stick or hand, then later anti clock wise .it help to break bonding of the sand & dust or small wood.

4. Keep stirring & water hose on, until you see the water is clean, keep rinsing the sand. The sand should not cloud the water. Each & every dust particle should be thrown out, now u have clean sand for ur aquarium all harmful dust particles removed victory !!!, I also suggest submerge the sand in aquarium water for 1 hour .then install in aquarium
