Aquarium Filter maintenance- How to clean Aquarium filter

Aquarium Filters remove unwanted ,Harmful remains of  fish  wastes , the Aquarium filters supports life of Aquarium Fish .But the Aquarium Filters is an mechanical man made filters, so it also needs maintenance, to filtering out pure water in Aquarium.
No matter which Filter you have you need to clean it carefully like chemical Filters,Biological filters,Skimmers these filters needs some easy cleaning process,but different process.for example

Mechanical filters can be simple filters , chemical ,biological ,or both .

• First take Filter out from the Aquarium , if its inbuilt in the tank than open its upper box, then fill one bucket of Aquarium water ,yes Aquarium water  helps in the growth of bacteria but if you use tap water many useful bacteria will die. OK now take  out all products inside of it if there is sponge ,rinse it with water and Squeeze it, so that all dirt will be remove repeat this procedure. I recommend  to wear hands gloves so that hands will not get any chemicals in hands.
• Second ,if you have Active carbon many chemical filters must have in it so we can rinse it but some people recommend that after 4 or 6 weeks it should be change . i think you should know by the shop keeper when to change this carbons because after sometime this Active carbons stops working.

Protein skimmers. To clean protein skimmers you need a  bucket  where these system can be submerged in  water, first take out all that waste material on the top, then open all stuff like cover motor etc, now prepare water, mix one cup or two vinegar in it now put the Skimmer into it till 24 hours ,After 24 hours the algae can be easily removed by cleaning brush because Algae becomes soft  .after removing the Algae and waste material rinse it well.
